1 Mark Twain (Pseudonym of Samuel Clemens) Following the Equator
Hartford, Conn. American Publishing Co. 1908 Hardcover Very Good No Jacket Book
Two-volume set in blue cloth with ivory coloured paste-downs on the spine with black and red type, top of the text block is gold leaf, deckled fore edge and bottom, in remarkable condition for books over a century old. Volume 1 has wear at the top edge of the front cover near the spine, and the top of the spine has one of those tiny vertical tears you get when people try to pull the book off the shelf by the spine. There's a bit of rubbing on the paste downs as well, and a little shelf wear on both volumes. These are the illustrated Hillcrest editions, and although they comprise the full text of Following the Equator they are also Vol. V and VI of the complete works. I do not have the entire set of complete works, however.
