True first edition (no hardback published) of the pseudonymous thriller by Neal Stephenson and his uncle. This, imho, is probably better than some of the early Stephenson stuff that everyone seems to rave about (I'm thinking Zodiac, here, particularly), and the thriller format really works well for the tautness of his writing style. This title's currently out of print in the U.S., and though the mass market's a little easier to find, the first edition is a must for a collector. This copy has some minor flaws to it: a couple of minor cover folds and some shelfwear; otherwise fine.
